In the 2010s, Formula 1 enters a new era: that of advanced technology and energy efficiency. Starting in this decade, the first hybrid solutions and sophisticated electronic systems begin to make their way, which will radically change the way in which single-seaters are designed and driven.
Although the KERS (braking energy recovery) system was already introduced in 2009, it is with the constant evolution of hybrid technologies that the F1 becomes a cutting-edge laboratory. The whole thing will culminate in 2014 with the V6 turbo hybrid engines, but already from 2010 you start to glimpse the future.
This transformation makes Formula 1 more sustainable, focusing on extraordinary performance with a lower environmental impact. It is a silent but decisive revolution, which shows how speed and ecology can coexist at the highest levels.
